Womens When La Trobe Uni began the exciting and new adventure of joining the VWFL in 2009, no one could have imagined the on and off field success we would experience. Women’s AFL is experiencing enormous growth and it is a really exciting time to be playing women’s footy. The Victorian Women’s League is continually expanding and providing more and more opportunities for women to compete at high level. In 2011, La Trobe Uni’s women’s team will compete once again in the VWFL’s North/ West division, after making it to the Preliminary Finals in 2011. We have received overwhelming support from the club as a whole over the past year, which has resulted in a very positive atmosphere around the club. Our team prides itself on a fun, friendly and diverse culture. We welcome women from all age groups, backgrounds and experience. We don’t mind if you’ve never kicked a football before, its all about getting more women involved in this great game of ours.
